Postal gold valuation - rather surprised in a good way!

Sent off an old 9ct gold chain I've never worn for years - it was a free valuation service with next day return if I didn't like the offer, so felt it was worth a laugh.

Comparable chains for sale in the shops for about £130 so I was truely expecting a silly silly offer but nope, sent it away, they offered me £116!

Can't argue with that in all fairness!

Cheeky blighters keep £15 if you want bank transfer but do free cheques - guess what they are sending me

From what I could find they are one of the higher payers.

OK, fair enough, however at this point of our bank balances, I'm happier with £116 than a chain I will never wear again nor have any desire to keep.

All you had to do was weigh the item, find the current gold spot price and decide what it is actually worth.
Then hit the high street and get the best quote from the local jewellers. You probably lost out on £20+ sending it to that company.

I know how much I lost out, but happy enough with the offer which is what counts for now.

Fair enough, i guess a lot of people dont bother to valuate themselves, these are the customers cash 4 gold rely on.
Its funny when we get people come into our shop saying, 'Well cash 4 gold quoted me (insert stupid price)', Which we know is BS, because they dont quote MORE than the scrap value
