    Thumbs Up Horn and volume phob sometimes doesnt work sometimes

    My horn and volume phob dosent work sometimes. I dont have a clue what could be causing this. one day everything works fine the next its not again. can any one help?

    I believe the horn not working on mk5 astras is quite common. A friend has one and the same thing happened, she took it to a main dealer and they told her it was common but they can't find the fault, and normally it works as soon as she drives on the forcourt!

    Have you checked, there is a safety recall on this issue! Ask at local vaux franchise.

    iv just hread that this fault was on watchdog in aprill and apparently vauxhall will fix any steering control problem even if the warrenty is ended. is this true?

    Can back this up and say yes, any car experiencing problems is covered, no matter the age.

    Also, I believe there is a recall out for all Astras to have a new bracket fitted to the CIM module.

    My car was done this weekend, and is just over 5 years old.
    Astra sold ... replaced with a Skoda ... soon to be replaced with another Vauxhall

    i had my safety recall done 2weeks ago on a 54plate car.

    All they do is add a clip onto the wiring to keep it away from touching the steering column (i think). Took about an hour and haven't had any problems - even tho before I didnt have the symptoms lol

    steering control problem? does this include steering pulling to left somedays to right? its still in warrenty. went to vauxhall few days ago and they told me about the recall about the horn and sorted it but nothing about this CIM ??? will mine be ok then? 07 plate sxi
