    X18XE1 to Z18XER or XEP

    has any one ever fitted the late engine into a early car
    I have a friend thats just called me up with a engine thats Lost a Cam belt
    not do I rebuild that or it would be cheaper for me to Drop in a newer engine
    but what one
    What was done to the Z18XER and the Z18XEP??

    I Know i will have to Run the cable off the X engine on the newer one

    I think the exhaust manifold is different as the older engine has the EGR valve, I think you can just block this off though, not sure about other changes.

    I think the actual engine is the same though? So you could fit the newer engine to the older car with all the old sensors etc and it should work, not 100% on this though.
