    Astravan 1.9 CDTi Tuning

Hiya, taking delivery of the above. Can anyone help with tuning, best things to do first. I have been reading about DTUK boxes but not sure which would suite the engine i am getting. (it is the 150 BHP). Are panel filters worth buying?

    Thanks in advance...

I have a astra sri hatch with same engine
Got use to the 150bhp now so looking for abit more power
Masperformance said they could remap mine in 2 stages do a mild tune and put a economy pack on for normal running to up fuel economy and tune the sport button to 200bhp which sounds good to me

Am up for any advice on any other mods than are helpful for better running and power..

I got told a panel filter is the easiest and first mod to do, my mates got the same car as me and it had one fitted when he got it and i dont know if having that fitted makes everything louder like when his turbo spools you can hear it alot more than min but mine has only done 25000 where has his has done 56000 so could be a wear and tear thing, he does seem to get abit better mpg than me only 2-3 more so am gonna get a panel filter for mine i think

Well think i have blabbered enough now lol

panel filter mite help it rev abit but will give no more bhp dtuk box is as good as any and gives the best gains 215bhp with a crdt box

on another note the SE is a brilliant van theres a van section on astra owners network and loads with the se get over there

fair play if you want a remap thats up to you but the dtuk boxes are the best around and i know very many 1.9 cdti's which have had them fitted from 1k and are now on 60k-70k no problems

eds remaps from regal are also good

There's plus and minus to both tuning boxes and remaps.

I'd always go for remaps, some always go for tuning boxes. Personal preference really. In my opinion its best to write things properly directly than to fool things to enhance things...
