    F28 gearbox to V6

Does anyone know if the F28 6 speed gear box will mate up to the V6 engine?

So if i was dropping in an x25xe (vectra) then an f28 would just bolt on no problem with just the flywheel from a z20let?

How would the engine perform with this gearbox as I think the F28 ratios etc are all for turbo cars?

well im currently sorting my V6 lump and considered this for the gearbox.
From searching various sites etc. The Vectra boys say this is a better gear box to use.
However I have read conflicting reports about what other parts you need.
Everyone says to use the LET or XE fly wheel. But some say you also need a F18 clutch cylinder. I am also not sure on what drive shafts and mounts I will need yet.

"So if i was dropping in an x25xe (vectra) then an f28 would just bolt on no problem with just the flywheel from a z20let?"

It's the C20LET or C20XE flywheel you'll need they both use an 8 bolt fixing as does the V6, wher'as the later Z20LEx series of engines use 6 bolts. If you use the later 'Pot' type flywheel you can use the Turbo clutch complete.

"How would the engine perform with this gearbox as I think the F28 ratios etc are all for turbo cars? "

Ratios are fine, way better than those in the F25 that the early V6's came with.

F18 slave cylinder is the one to use as is the rear mount.

Driveshafts, use the V6 ones, the inner cv splines fit the F28 and you'll need a 22mm spacer between the offside split shafts bearing and it's mating face with the support bracket on the back of the V6 block.

You'll need to fabricate the nearside gearbox mount, but you'll be making one for the engine any way.

You'll also need to use an Astra G F17 type rod linkage and be prepared for some fabricating to make it work with the F28 linkage.

Good luck finding a decent F28 they're all a bit long in the tooth now.

The other option although ultimatley not as strong is the M32 from an Astra VXR, younger, easier to get hold of, easier to fit (mostly standard Vx parts) and much nicer shift.

Its a bummer mate, I take it you have a mk4 Astra.
Which version of the V6 have you got?

I cant make up my mind if to try and go the supercharged route, or throttle bodies like below.
