    Help with egr valve and carb

    Hi i have a 1.6 8valve astra mk4 s reg and i tried taking the egr valve off today and tried to clean it, how do i do it? Can i take it apart?, also how do i take my carb off ? Help please as my car is slugish etc put new plugs in today its a bit better but not the way it used to be

    You can't take it to bits, you can really only clean the outside/plunger part.

    aw rite ok, is this the carb or the egr valve that cant be taken apart thanks

    if the EGR is anything like the one on mine (2000 1.6 16V) then you cant take it apart, only give it a clean (theres like a ball bearing pluger thing that gets coaked up)- it needs to be spotless (including the bit it seats on).

    i wouldnt pull the carb/ throttle body apart, thats asking for trouble but you can remove them for a good clean up.
