    2.2 brake upgrade?

Just a quick question, what all is needed for a 2.2 astra brake upgrade to the 308mm? and what are the most cost effective options?

You will need the caliper carriers from a 308 setup and new discs.

You can get away with the same pads if you wish but the correct ones are just slightly bigger.

I've decided to skip the 308 and go straight to a 321mm setup of a vxr.

As far as braking power goes tho, is there much of a difference using the standard calipers with the 308 discs compared to standard, or is it def worth the £200ish more for the full VXR 321mm kit?

And where is the best place to buy the 321mm VXR kit?

You could always upgrade the pads and discs on yours.
My current pad and disc combination outbreaks a standard 308 setup by about 5 meters from 100km/h to stand still.

I dont think your friend is braking as hard as you then
I have done Lots of brake upgrades
    and
£ for £ the 308mm kit is very very Good
£ for £ the 321mm is better but it costs more

I have a 321mm Front kit you will need to buy new brake lines but other then that its ready to go

well where can i buy the complete 308 kit, because i all i seem to find is either the discs with brackets to adapt original calipers, or the full 321 kit!
I just want a bit more clamping power because it does feel kinda soft and spongey at the mo! Any reason why this may be the case also?

    Thanks

    u dont NEED a full 308 kit!!

all u need *as already advised* is the 308 caliper carriers, new discs and pads!

the calipers themselves are identical between 280 and 308mm setups so u retain ur current calipers

£110 will buy u 308 caliper carriers brand new from Vxl or online but if u can shop around u may find some used ones!

youll then just need the discs and pads - which can be had for about £50 if u shop around on ebay

if funds allow id whack in some EBC Yellowstuff pads instead of standard and youll be onto a winner

new braided hoses and fresh fluid throughout and the spongey brakes will be a thing of the past!

    DONE!
