i'll agree with the muppets part but i won't agree with ruining the world cup bid!

The blues fans kicked everything of, but most only invaded the pitch for celebration, it took 1/2 to kick start by throwing the flare! But the Villa fans are getting blamed for throwing it first (they threw it back)

people think they no have feirce their local derbies are in football, Villa and Blues have one of the worst in the country! It has always been this way and will always be this way! Its football, get over it! Every Country is the same, Italy and Spain are much much more worse than what happened last night!

EDIT: and it actually only lasted 10 minutes, from what the News make out it lasted hours but it didnt! Police and stewards dealt with it quickly and that was it!

Why is it that you only see that sort of behaviour from 'Football Fans'

Don't see it from Rugby etc

I agree, i used to play both rugby and football and there are too many tits in football, you could play rugby for 80 minutes, smash into each other, slam eachother on the floor and now and again a fight would emerge, but you always showed respect at the end of a game by shaking hands with the opponents.

Also going on about the crowd, rugby is a man's game and a lot more physical and can get violent but you still see fans from both teams sitting in the same stand, imagine that happenning in football, all hell would break loose

Becuase Rugby has always been seen as a Family orientated game (but probably has hooligan issues away from the game).. Football was a family orientated game until the terraces were overtaken end of the 70's throughout the 80's and then until present day by football hooligans in the UK..

You would be very surprised to learn where hooliganism get's it's roots from. How it started and how it evolved into it's present guise.

only a small percentage of the fans were trying to cause trouble. majority that pitch invaded were celebrating a great victory. then a flare comes flying over from the villa end and was being chucked between both sets of fans, along with a barage of chairs. about 500 seats were broken in the process.

ps im not a hooligan and i dont agree with anything that went on last night after the final whistle

iv only seen the sky sports footage and from what i saw of that it looked like villa threw it first. fair play if it wasnt. tbh i could imagine that either set of fans were capable of starting it. it all began at half time though. villa did manage to break a door down behind the stand in the railway end that was seperating the fans and a few punches were thrown then
