Right, I thought I would be very organised and pay some of my council tax online on the 26th Nov, so did that via the councils website, got an authorisation code along with an automated email receipt of the £90 payment.
I checked my bank balance after and it had the balance, then the available balance under that, which was the balance minus the £90 which was what I expected.
It stayed like that until I checked this morning (I know with building societies it does take a couple of days to go out) and its back up to the full balance, without the £90 taken off, with no trace of the transaction on my online statement.
Just rang the council and they said its showing as paid on my balance with them, but to ring the bank to see what's going on, so I rang the bank and he said that he can't see where the £90 was paid, and as the council have emailed me saying it had been paid, plus the receipt number and autorisation code and has said they don't really have a leg to stand on if they now say I haven't paid it.
Do I get really excited about having an extra £90 to spend, or do you think they will do a 'suprise' and take the money out of my account at a later date with no warning?
Just really seeing if anyone else has had anything like this happen.
