    Working out petrol?

    Help? please? lol

Sorry if its in wrong section.

Trying to work out petrol costs, a mate wants to be taken to pembroke docks in wales on sat (then I gotta drive back) then picked up again on monday, RAC route planner says its 198 miles there so 396. Petrol is 1.18 / 1.19 in my area and I drive a 1.8 coupe. How much do you reckon it would cost to do 2 x 396 miles? She said £80 should cover it, this im not sure...

    396*2= 792 miles / 30mpg = 26.4 gallons

    119p x 4.5 = 535p per gallon

    26.4 x 535p = 14121p = £141.21

    or 35mpg =

    396*2 = 792miles / 35mpg = 22.6 gallons

    119p x 4.5l = 535

    22.6 x 535p = 12106 = £121.06

To do it for £80 as she said, you will need to do 52.8mpg - good luck

    8000p / 119 = 67.2L / 4.5 = 15 Gallons

    792miles / 15gallons = 52.8mpg

if you had a diesel, you could have lol
but as said, thats allowing probably for little difference in fuel prices in the different places and you will most likely have to stop somewhere dependant on when you last fillled up
Probably the ONLY Astra Mk3 sitting on Corsa D SXI rims!
And Now a Diesel on Discs all round!

Yep, if you had to fill up on motorway services, you could probably pay 125p a litre. So would bump the cost up even more.
