    backbox exhaust question

ive recently bought a irmy dd backbox for missus car (astra g ) but as usual the flange has rotted away , originally the flange is welded in place on the backbox

is the flange on the centre pipe welded in place or is it free to move round

basically i need to know weather i can get a flange welded on the backbox ,and then just fit it to the centre pipe and line it up if the flange on the centre pipe moves ,if that makes any sense

think its fixed on the centre section and moves on the backbox, cant say for sure as mines got the sleeve fitment and i had to chop the flange off my irmy box to fit it to my centre centre. just used one of those exhaust reducers from the local chavparts shop
