    Refiting EGR valve

    Hi guys,

I'm sorry to start a thread on this but I did google it and tried to get help on another thread about EGRs and even PM a member that posted a "how to" on the EGR but without success... so I turn to you all now. My question is rather simple: how should the EGR gasket be fitted? It has these sharper edges on the holes that will let exhaust through that can either face the engine or the EGR. I cannot find any pics or description... and unfortunately the old one looked flat from being crushed between the EGR and engine and I didn't bother to keep track of how it was mounted, until I unpacked the new one... and hit the wall with my head... repeatedly... I have placed it there anyway but the car hasn't run yet so I guess I could always flip it around if wrongly placed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

I'd say the lip on the gasket would be facing up towards the EGR.
