    Newcastle? the north?

    Hiya

Not sure if any of you are aware but i drive for a living dropping off courtesey cars round the UK.

Tomorrow i have to drop off a toyota yaris, into the centre of newcastle.

I'm based 200mile away in the midlands.

Just wondering if anybody here is from up that way and can tell me what the snow and ice is like and if i'm likely to make it, as from watching BBC weather and how they are making it look i might aswell stay in bed?

Will be leaving here at 04:30 am

A19 seemed fine today, as we had our meet on it.

Roads seem passable today. Both lanes available on the A19.

2 lanes on the A1 section I was on. I would say you will get through, but might take a bit longer than normal.

Just take it easy and steady.

Yep, I was expecting the worst when I set out, but pleasantly surprised.

to give you some idea on times and snow etc.

I left here (newcastle) at 4am to go to alton (infact I drove past the Toyota factory) it took me 6 and a half hours to get there.

Roads are closed, snow it deep, people cant drive etc.

So allow your self lots and lots of time

if you're sticking to main roads (M1, A1 etc) then you'll be fine, all snowploughed/gritted. You'd only have a problem if you're heading off to the kind of place like I live up on the moors and off the beaten track, we've had a LOT of snow yesterday and today, and it's still coming down. I'd drive in it, but then again I'm very experienced at driving in snow so it doesn't bother me. I have however advised Matt (my boyfriend) from driving back to his house in London today and he's staying until tomorrow instead now, as he's not as experienced as me, and I'd rather he didn't get into any trouble.
