    X17DTL low blow oil capacity?

Does anyone know how much oil a low blow x17dtl takes? Cant find the info anywhere on the net. I will be getting 10w40 semi for diesel.

    Thanks in advance

It is 4.5 litres maximum for the Z17DTL, (the DTH is 5 litres maximum).
Measure that amount in and let the engine warm up to operating temperature, then switch off and wait for 5 minutes. That is how the oil level is meant to be measured. Don't forget that too much oil is just as bad as not enough - it causes lots of problems.

Thanks for that, operating temperature is a bit of a joke, it takes ages just to move the temperature guage in the blue bit , then progressively goes up to just over 100°C before the fan kicks in. May change the Thermostat when I do the coolant change.

Oh well, sorry about that, thought you were asking about the X17DTL not the Z17DTL
