Smoked or clear side repeaters ?

I have a Sapphire black Mk4 which was as standard until I fitted an irmy grill and now I want to mod more but keep it subtle !
Just wondering on whether smoked side repeaters would look wrong as the car is black.

    Any thoughts ?

    You have a simple choice.

Smoked repeaters if you want them to blend in (stealth look) or clear repeaters if you want them to stand out.

I have smaked/tinted repeaters on mine they look pretty sexy. As my car is silver, its the other way around, clear repeaters blend in with the car and smoked/tinted make the car stand out!

I was told on saturday that when I put the car in for its MOT to make sure the original rear lights and repeaters are on aas it will not pass as they are so dark, but as yet (touch wood) haven't been pulled by the fuzz

Why would having smoked repeaters fail an MOT.
Surely if they are bright and reflective enough when lit up then that's whats important ?

They said my rear lights lets out less than 50% of the light and the same with the side repeaters. They said if I can find brighter blubs it may pass.

But if you read what I said in my post:

I was told on saturday that when I put the car in for its MOT to make sure the original rear lights and repeaters are on as it will not pass as they are so dark
You can just about see the light shinning through it so they will fail!!! but what one garage may fail another may say it is ok but needs to be addressed and another may say its fine!!!
