    damn you vauxhall!!

My Heater control unit has been playing up for the past year or so, The right hand side Lamp doesnt work all the time/properly.

So i went to the scrap yard to day to get a replacement unit.. went straight to a mk4 which had the same layout and Aircon button and away i went, happy as a pig in shit knowing it was going to get changed.

Gets back home and i immediatly start playing.. gets the old unit out, puts the new on in.. OH BALLS!! The two connector blocks on the back dont match up to the Connector blocks on the car.. Puts both the units together and they are different...

The one original to the car has a 5 pin connector at the top and then a 8pin (i believe) inbetween the temp and fan control and the one i've bought has 11 pins at the top and 6pins inbetween the temp and fan controls.

I just dont get it though.. when and why did they feel the need to change the connections on the back of the units?? now i've got a unit that i cant take back and cant use and will be lucky to get more than what i paid for on ebay.
