Just ranting here.
Me, my gf and a couple of mates went to Abbey park in leicester for the fireworks on Nov 6th.
We had a travel lodge booked for afterwards which was about a mile away. I wanted to park there and walk to the display (1 mile) but no one else wanted to so i parked in a B&Q car park near the display as there was nowhere else nearby and everyone else seemed to be doing it.
I dont know the area and no one else came up with any ideas so i just left it there.
Had a letter today with a £50 fine. No ticket on the car it was all recorded on camera. I was literally 16 minutes over the 2 hour maximum stay. I wouldnt have even had the ticket if we left after the display like I wanted to, but everyone else wanted to wonder round.
So annoyed that because im the only one out the group who can drive and has a car, i have all responsibility. I had a bad feeling about parking there and didnt want to wait around at the display but no one cared.
I was going to go back and move the car but i text my dad first, who grew up in Leicester, and he said not to bother it will be fine.
Just goes to show, should have followed my gut feeling and parked somewhere else.
