    silence

    is it possible 2 have your car running silent or as near as an if so what would u need 2 do this on a mk4 thinking of getting rid of k&n induction filter putting a panel filter back on an looking for a new exhaust eventually tht will put out hardly if any noise then will be looking into sound deadening any other ideas to achive silent running would be welcome this is only a idea i have in mind just would like to know if it is possible?

    You can only really do what you've said , sound proofing is the way to go if you are looking to reduce engine and road noise inside the car , Apart from ensuring every mechanical part on the engine is in good order ,
    like the lifters anything like that which is likely to make any noise that shouldn't be present whilst the engine is running , I'm not taking the pish (i own an Astra) but your never going to get and old Astra to run silent it's not a high end motor
