    Question coupe boot hole

    hi do you think there is any way of making the boot hole a bit bigger because i think its abit arss that the parcel shelf dosnt come out ,ive heard that the metal plate is part of the vehicles structure but the hatch never had it so why would the coupe

    it is part of the structure and you will need to do some strengthening and seam welding if you cut away at that area

    Why is it a problem? moving bulky items?

    On a hatch the rear structure was designed to accommodate the extra strength requirements of having a great big hole for the nice practical boot. The coupe doesn't need that strength at the top, but it does need it in the waist so that they could leave the roof off for the convertable. Look at a mk3 cabby, fixed rear shelf, the saloon it's based on, fixed rear shelf.
