    dropped screw into turbo :(

    right i droped a little screw in my turbo this morning after gettin a mirrior and a magnetic bit to pick it up it actually wasnt there started the car up and was fine!.... my question is where the hell has it gone ?

    probably bounced up and down a few times denting the piston then fired out the exhaust manifold chipping a few edges on the way out.

    My guess is it will be in the pipe between you turbo and intercooler, not too bad as its quite easy to take off!

    would it be alright to drive with not on boost till 2morro morning ? or could it have gone down the recirc valve ?

    The turbo still spins even if not on boost so wouldn't make much difference. As already suggested, check the entrance to the intercooler.

    Wouldn't have thought it would have got past the blades though, as they are almost a flush fit to the shell IIRC? Are you sure it actually went it there, didn't just hit the side and bounce off.

    im sure i saw it go in there as i heard it bouce around... but i started it and reved it and was fine..... got a magnet and eveything and nothing came out

    id of stripped everything until i found it. little screw or not it could cost u £££s to repair the damage it could do

    it will not pass from one side to the other on the Turbo
    it will still be in the Inlet side take a look pop off the std recirc valve it will be in that part of the turbo
    NickW did the same thing

    danny you are spot on took the recirc valve off and there it was sitting in there cant thankyou enough .... now when im in gear say 3rd geaqr at 50mph and i take my foot off the throttle so thr car slows down i get a wierd buzzing noise untill i accelrate again :S what could this be ?
