Car had its front flexi pipe replace roughly 2 months ago, as previous one had slight crack in it. Since new part replaced whistle occurs at roughly 3000 rpm right through the revs till you change gear. Note this happens only on heavy acceralation (pedal more then 35/45% to the floor) and every gear, from 3000 revs onwards.
Took back to garage, and they said will be a faulty part, so they replaced the complete flexi pipe unit today FOC. Now the whistle noise is STILL occuring. The garage have looked at it and still be baffled why still happen (on a drive and on a ramp). the noise is from the front, and is not part of any air induction or from the top of the engine. It comes from around the flexi pipe area (they cant quiet locate it)
Noise never occured on the old flexi, only on new part.
Remember my engine is 1.8 and a NON turbo so shouldnt make any whistling noises lol!
Anyone shed on light? Garage could think maybe:
Lambeda sensor not sealing correctly.
Dont want spend any labour/parts until locate the problem
