Astra Estate rear door locking F*****

    Hi Guys

Im having problems with my astra estate 2005 (H) rear door passanger side, it is basically the locking system, sometimes it will not lock when all the other doors are locked. And sometimes will not unlock when all the other doors have been unlocked, have to open it from the inside to get it opened.
Has any one also had this problem and what did they do to get it resoloved?

Because your problem is intermitant i'd say you have a broken wire where they pass from the cars body to the door. You should be able to pull the black grommet back by the door hinges to inspect the wiring

It was a broken wire, Vauxhall charged £150 to find and weld in new piece now works fine, if i could have found it i would have welded it myself.

Hello people got a massive problem has the issue above but now have the same issue on the oppsite rear door only this time the door is locked shut and there is no way of opening. I have managed to remove the door card but cannot see any way of releasing the lock..

If you cant open the door from the inside, is it deadlocked?

Use your key fob to remove deadlocking, then open using interior handle.

Yes deadlock must be on but cannot be turned off with the key fob, so trying to open the door with the inside door handle just does not work. As i have access to the locking mechansim after removing the door card I did not know if there was a way of unlocking it manually from here. The child lock was on but have seen how to turn this off directly on the locking mechansim, just thought that there must be a way to release the door catch from here also.

You sure you've not just got broken wires so could reconect them with the door closed to open it?

I would have thought if it was a broken wire it would be where the door and the body of the car meet as this is what happened on the other side around the same time last year luckly the door just would not lock so garage was able to access it. But with the door stuck shut not going to be able to acess the wires. Mission is to see if there was a manual way around this?
