No pictures yet as I'm at work but heres the story...
On an A road to work, lorry travelling 30 mph with van, a car then me. Follow for a while, and the car doesn't even hint like he wants to overtake so come the next clear stretch I indicate, accelerate and he then pulls out without indicating while I'm along side him, I can either brake, and propbably end up with him PITing himself and wiping out my front or keep it floored. On the spot decision, I kept the throttle floored.
He carried on pulling out and clipped my side with his arch (ford fusion).
It has dented the door which will be easy to replace and destroyed the bump strip... but has also carried onto the rear quarter panel and has put a 4mm dent and a horrific scrath which reveals the metal.
He accepts responsibility but the driver behind us drove off so if we do go insurance (if the rear quarter proves to beyond easy repair) and they get him to change his story, he could blag I dangerously overtook as there is no evidence where the incident happened.
To be honest I don't really know what I'm asking for, just seeking anyone who has been in a similar positon with the coupe rear quarter.
Can dents in the quarter panel easily be vacuumed out? I don't want to go through insurance through fear of losing the car as it is such light damage, but it is still damage to the panel on the b pillar.
