    help fitted new rear wheels tc light comes on at 45 mph

    hy i put some new wheels on to my car to day they are astra h sri alloys 17 inch to replace my 16 inch mk 4 alloys. i have only fitted the rear to so far but when i hit 45mph the tc esp light comes on, never had this be for, my old wheels were 205,50,16 new rear ones are 225,45,17 any one had this be fore

    Easy one this. The reason is because the rear wheels are a different size to the front, this will chuck the lights on.

    Yeah rear wheels are travelling at a different speed to the front wheels, this will cause the car to think youve lost grip on the rear wheels and throw up the light.

    As the difference is so slight in difference its not a big enough difference until you get to the higher speeds.

    surely just a 1.8 SRi with Prodrive kit ?

    seriously doubt it will have ESP but i know for sure the master cylinder is unique to ESP models so you could check that to see if it has an additional outlet which i believe it does.....something along those lines anyway lol
