    exhaust backfire??

I've had one of these ebay 'race tube's fitted for the last month or so, no problems, a bit loud, but theres no silencer so thats to be expected!

today running the car as normal, when revving the engine (not hard), its splutters and bangs, but there seems no problem with the engine so i'm guessing its the exhausts fault. feels like theres too much backpressure if that makes sense.

    any ideas?

You'll have less back pressure now.

thing is it has been fine for the last month, but since yesterday it has been really bad.. nearly undriveable!

any reason for this? am i going to have to invest in a new exhaust system?

If it has been OK then suddenly started then it suggests an issue with either the exhaust (perhaps a blown or leaking gasket?) or something else.

turns out that something else is something completely unrelated to the exhaust! i think its the fuel intake somewhere down the line. engine completely stalled and wouldnt start again... more expense by the look of it!
