    filter help:

thinking of getting a cone filter for my cab, its running phase 3.5 and got 2.2 airbox fitted. But think the filters holding it back. so i came up with the idea of one of these type filters:

with my large intake being ducted towards the centre, would this give a bit better power? also it would make it sound better. obviously would need some kind of heat shield.

It will sounds better. I have one almost the same as this one.

As for more power? probably not.
Heat soak? probably but it sounds better so mine will be staying

youll struggle immensely to get any decent power

i lost about 20bhp with my groupA Cosworth ITG cone on

having said that, the car will be running said filter if it ever makes it back on the road as the sound is just immense....

if u want more bang for buck then fit a CDTi or 2.2 airbox - DONE!

yh i got the 2.2 one, but like the look of a cone. suppose its just a case of trial and error. some people swear by them, but others just complain about heat soak. but if there good for cossies running higher bhp then surely they will be fine on a z20 let running around 300.

would one of these be better?

if ur running 300 then expect quite a reduction in power

my theory is if u wanna run a cone then have some serious mods to restore some of the power the cone loses

on a standard car however, the difference is extremely noticeable as it was on mine

sound is everything tho so follow ur heart

    whats the dimensions of it?
