Depo angel/ halo lights with 35watt HID kit fitted

Hi all, ive fitted my Depo halo headlights along with the HID kits for both the high and low beam.

Took them to get adjusted which is all done but im really dissapointed with the brightness of the dipped beam brightness.

I have read on here about people complaining about this before and it seams its down to the projector side of these. I have checked that I have the switch in side the light set to right hand drive etc.

    Has anyone overcome this problem?
I have considered going for a 55w HID kit for the dip beam but im concerned they will melt the lens or something.

Any help on this will be great as I just want to get this finished so I can fit the new bumper on and get on with the rest of the car's

I think the headlights need raising up, as looking when I pull up to car in front of me, the beam patten seams quite low if you see what I mean.

But I would have thought the alinment when it went to the MOT place would have been set up correctly. Unless they have made it better and not quite got it right.
It was certainly improved over what it was when I just stuck them on.

High beam is excellent though, I came off the A12 near me to go round some back roads and see what it was like. On low beam it was terrible, but hit the high beam and the place lit up like a football stadium lol

Like the idea of removing the caps though, might give that a try for the high beam.

    Maybe a stupid question.
If I was just to buy the 50W HID bulbs which are cheap enough, can you use the same Ballasts or will they need changing as well?

It's the ballasts that control the output from the bulbs. For 50/55 watt you'll need 50/55 watt ballasts. 35w bulbs will work at 50/55 watt if used with higher output ballasts, but their life expectancy will be reduced a little.

Well I upgraded the halo bulbs to LED bulbs and they do look better when fitted with the HID's, a white light as opposed to the yellow. Its a bit fiddly on a couple of the bulbs. I just removed the loom and fitted them. it was alot easyier.
