    Exhaust flexi pipe frayed

    Hi guys,

Just bought a coupe 1.8 Bertone. Started it up yesterday and this huge noise just drowned out the staff car park and everyone just stared. Took it to my local garage and they had it up on the ramps, and it turns out the flexi part of teh exhaust is frayed and is blowing.

They mentioned this should have been an advisory on my freshly done MOT however it wasnt mentioned. I reckon it was on the way out and its happened in the 2 days i've had it.

Is it repairable or should i just pay the £70 to get it fixed?

    Thanks for the feedback

You can get replacements for in the region of £30... Just hit it yourself if you have the tools

I would also go back to the garage as you mentioned you have some warranty left from buying the car form the garage.

I have the same problem, but am goign to just replace the pipe

Hey Mark good to hear from you again

I would attempt it, but its getting under the car to do the work thats the problem, since moving out from the Mrs she kept everything lol tools the lot.

I'm guessing you need the pipe, top gasket, and clip for the mid section?

    Cheers

    Paul
