    manual boost controller

ive got an astra 1.7dti envoy with the isuzu engine. i was thinking about fitting a manual boost controller, just wanted to know what sort of gains to expect? has already been remapped!

also, on long motorway journeys could i use the boost controller to turn down the turbo to almost inactive to save fuel because when im doin about 70ish on the motorway im at about 3000rpm which is right in the middle of my turbo range, so turning it down would save fuel.

You only get full boost when you floor it and boost pressure depends on throttle travel so power output can increase when you floor it and decrease when at motorway drving. At motorway speeds a turbo increases efficiency as thats what they are generally used for unless its a performance motor.

when you say manual boost controller do you mean a "bleed type" if so then you can fit one on your 1.7dti engine and if your engine has already been remapped then you will see a gain in performance dont forget though that the wastegate is vac controlled not pressure(dont get greedy though as you can risk going into limp mode)
