Unhappy irmscher back box more restrictive than standard?

    Evening all

I fitted my irmscher back box today and really happy I managed to do it myself coz im abit usless haha.

But I was wondering, after anyone else fitted theres more restrictive than the standard one?

Ive drove around abit today and the car feel like it just wont pull as much and can really tell when trying to set off quickly.

My engine is a 1.6 16v and I have only changed the back box not the center section.

    Thanks...

If anything there less restrictive, I fitted one to my old 1.6 and I could notice a difference! Get a race pipe that should help things

It's less restrictive and to know why you feel like you've lost power low down, you need to go check out the effects of gas flow speed on engine performance...

In short, lower down the rpm range you've likely now reduced the gas flow speeds. This will reduce power, however higher up, the gas flow speeds can now get higher than before so you would gain a little.

been out for a bigger drive later on mostly duel carriage ways nd motorways and it does feel better at the top end but still feels sluggish (like im in too higher gear for the speed im traveling if that makes sense) at low speeds...

so am I gunna have to deal with this or would a race tube help matters??

I've got a remus centre section and irmy box on my 1.8 and to be honest I didn't really notice a difference. Try derestricting the air box and an enlarged air inlet with a panel filter that freed up some poneys on my car
