    Tech 2 help/instructions

I have use of a Tech 2 cable and plugged it into my mk4 astra to try to reprogram the key to work remotely but I just can't see how to do it!

I open up the program, choose year and car, then select Body... but when I try to choose Central door lock it comes up with an error '56,70' is not a valid integer value

Am I doing something wrong, can anyone help pls??

Sorry but the "Tech 2" cable you have is using very old pirate software and it may not be possible. This developed years ago into OPCOM.

Not been on a MK4 for ages, but it's in the imobiliser it usually gets programmed, try looking in there if it is an option

I didn't realise it was old or pirated... are you sure?! It was bought not long ago and came with a software disc
I'll have another look under immobiliser but won't get a chance til the weekend now... do I need to get opcom instead then? thanks

....or check your region to see if any members have opcom (still pirate) ....or Vauxcom to help you do your key

I've pm'd someone in my area who says he has it but haven't heard, might contact my local garage see if they can help

I'd like to be able to do this stuff myself in the future tho... sorry but what is Vauxcom, is it better than Opcom?

Where are you (Doesnt say in your profile)

Vauxcom is the legit Op-Com with full back up and forum to help with any problems (But about £400)

Whoops, added now! I'm in Herts (bit far from you unfortunately!) how much would you charge to program a key then? just so I can get an idea of how much others might do it for

Would take about 30 minutes to do.

I normally just charge £15 to code a key (Alarm fob and transponder) to a car.

And thats to clear any old keys too so the ones you have are the only ones that will work.

Called my local garage and even they charge £30 plus VAT and would need the car for the whole morning!!!!

So definitely going to invest in a code reader of my own. Lee, would you know if this will work for my car (mk4 2.2, 2003 '52 plate) ? I found the seller as he was mentioned in other threads as being good
