    Ignition key not working

    Hi,the ignition key for my astra 52 reg as stopped working,when i put a new battery in the red light on the key comes on and stays on,and will not operate the doors,it works okay manually,what is the best thing to do,do i need to get a new one from the dealers, or can it be fixed .thanks ellsie

    The remote part of the key comes away from the main key and can be replaced on it's own. This is a dealer job to supply and program unless you know someone with the software

    If you know someone good with electrionice you may be able to get a new switch soldered into the remote as thats what I believe is faulty

    Too far i'm afraid,
    Try going to your dealers, and sometimes they give advice on ppl's who can reprograme yor key, at a reduced cost, other than through themselves, (many pennies)
    My local main dealer put me onto a shop called cobblers and he only charged me about£30
