Astra Mk4 2.0 SRI Manifold Crack

Hey guys hopefully someone can help me!!!!

Had a whistling/ticking noise when car starts for afew weeks now, at first i thought it was something to do with hydraulic tappets then maybe something located in the cambelt region i.e water pump etc

After removing the Heat sheild today i found to my suprise the most awful welding ive ever seen.

There is a crack between outlets 3 and 4 on the manifold which at some point in the past has been welded and by the looks of it re-welded.

Something when i got the car i never thought to check for silly me lol

Im having great trouble sourcing a new manifold.

Any help on this issue would be fantastic ive listed the engine model below any help would be greatly apprecaited guys

    Many thanks

    Engine Model: X20XEV

    2.0 SRI Mk4 Astra

I would find out if the manifold on an X20XEV Vectra is the same as yours. Mine has this engine and there are loads of these types of Vectras being broken/scrapped just now. Could save you some coin too.

Alternatively, I have read that upgraded manifolds (freer flowing) are not that unreasonably priced

Yeah i belive it is, apparently (this is what a mechanic and a friend have told me) my engine was what vauxhall fitted to the last style omega's and from images ive looked up in the attempt of finding a manifold a substantial amount were pictures taken with the engine in a vectra

be wary with vectra manifolds till you know what yours looks like, i had this problem and went for a vectra manifold but they have what looks like an egr rail or similar running along the top of them, or the one i looked at did anyway

The Vectra/Omega/Astra Mk3 X20XEV manifold is not the exact same as the Mk4 Astra X20XEV manifold.

The above have the addition of pipework for the SAI.

You need wither a manifold from a Mk4 Astra X20XEV or a C18XE which doesn't have this fitted.

Or just go for a performace manifold IMO
