mk4 van engine conversion could be on the cards

    hey guys.
well on saturday i met up wit podgey for the 1st time and we had a good old chin wag about this and that and how i wud love to do a conversion on my van due to the fact its only i little 1.7dti. wit all this saturday nite my cambelt snapped/came off and it really didnt sound to good when it happened so im thinking this could be the time to do a engine conversion.

now ive bin looking about some of the forums and see wot other people have done and im quite tempted by the saab 2.3t or 2.5t engines both giving out about 170-200bhp.

ive got plenty of time to think as i need to do abit of saving and this is something iv always wanted to do. kind of a built not bought thing.

my van is fully stripped out, no dash or interior trims and it must weight about,if not just under a ton so power to weight shud be my friend if all goes to plan

just want some in put from you guys so i know what im getting myself into and if there are any hints or tips i can have

    cheers for reading

Better scope with the Saab B234 engines than the LET's Engines. Some running absolutely insane power.

    Do it mate!

from what ive hard the saab internals are safe upto the 500bhp area. but im gonna be happy wit the 200-250 mark. and with the van totally stripped, think it must weigh in at just under a ton so power to weight is my freind and fingers crosed i may have it ready for pvs, if not then defo for total vx live

got a zlet in my van and goes quite well but you get used to the power and want more every few weeks,so regal stage 3.5 parts are here and ready to fit, haha

saab engines are good if you can get someone to sort the wiring out mate
