    Rebuilding Z20let help!

    Evening,

    Well it seems pritty likely that i will be getting a z20let soon only problem is the engine is i bits and needs putting back together.

    How hard would this be for me as ive never had much experience with an engine im not botherd how long it takes as i have atleast a year to play with

    I really want to give this ago obviously i no ill need help along the way but im sure you lot can advise me , is there a guide or how too anywhere that i can refer to or any books or something ?

    I have an engine stand and a wide range of tools and an empty warm garage to work in lol.

    Rebuilding mate, make you you have the right sockets, spanners ratchets, Torque wrenches ( ones that will do little torque to a fair bit )

    You'll also need an angle gauge for when tightening up headbolts, as its not just a case of torquing them and thats it.

    Possibly a blow torch for heating up rusted bolts and nuts like.

    One of the best things you can invest in is a haynes manual mate. Tells you all torque figures and angles etc

    Dont think the haynes covers the zlet engines does it?

    "invest" in a copy of AutoData then K17 tells you torque and angles on there aswell.

    Im only up road pal in cleackheaton can always bob down if you get stuck. Good luck with it. Forst engine i rebuilt was a EJ20 impreza turbo lump. If i can do that then anything i possible lol
