Post Are They Winding Me Up??!!

My car is in the garage for the third time in about 4 weeks.

First time, the car was very jerky to drive - they changed the coil pack and said all was fixed. I collected the car the next morning and after about 10 miles it started again so back in.

Next, they put the old coil pack back in, did an ECU update, fitted a new O2 sensor and EGR valve.

All seemed fine until the engine management light came on last friday. Fault codes point to O2 sensor again, maybe post-cat this time.

I was told by someone if a car keeps going wrong on a similar thing, you can claim a new car as they are obviously not fixing it; is there any truth to this??

    Cheers.

you'd have to have many many many problems and attempts before they even consider replacing whole car....is it aint gonna happen easily.

My car went into dealers about twelve times for various bits, they all hid when i came through the door cause they knew it was f****d off.

You have a long way to go fella before they give you another motor. Once you have bought a motor off of them all they are intersted in is stinging you on the service costs !! Keep on at them to sort it out and sometimes jumping up and down and shouting the odds does work , beleive me.

Working in the motor trade i know that a company has 3 attempts to put a fault right until the customer can legally reject the car.

Hope this info helps. Threaten legal action etc but you will have to follow it up as they may call your bluff.
