Cool Ejectable CupHolder in DIN Slot

    Morning All.

Just had a little brainwave, so I want to try it out and see if it works...

Because of the lack of a decent cupholder/s in my MK5, I was thinking of moulding one into my small DIN slot underneath my Alpine stereo. It is the perfect size to have one of those ones that 'eject' out of the dash, however the only ones I have see before are vertical ones, and not horizontal (I have seen the vertical ones in a Saab 95 Aero, Audi A2 & VW Golf R32).

Does anybody know a car that has a horizontal ejecting cupholder? I will then just go and buy one from the manufacturers spares department, stick it in my DIN slot, fill the surrounding bit with expanding foam/plastic filler and then fibreglass the front bit so I can paint it and make it look pretty!

Your helps would be gratefully appreciated.

Yeah mate, well I fancied doing something myself to get a bit of practice with this kind of thing and thought this would be one of the easiest, and most practical lol. Which Vectra model is that mate?

Thanks mate, but it's not actually DIN size, it's the small compartment you get underneath the stereo when you put in a single DIN aftermarket stereo. Single DIN sized cupholder would be too big.

I found a suitable one on eBay. It's an Audi one, single cupholder.

the Toyota Corolla has a 1/2 DIN pop-out cup holder that'll fit. I've fitted a CUP-le now (sorry, couldn't resist the pun)

there's two on ebay but you get the console with it, so it's £20+postage.
