Z16XE - Coilpack
Z16XEP - Coilpack
Ok, basically I'm wondering if their the same part and same part no, or will they be different and for what reason will they be different how would it effect my car in the long run if it is incorrect.
I'm asking because I broke down with a Cylninder Misfire in no4 (Fault Code P0403, I'm a member of the AA so got them to come to me in which they told me I was right and that it was probably going to be the Coilpack which was the culprit (which, I had a feeling it would be).
The problem is, the guy told me the engine is a Z16XEP (which I believe is the twinport version) however my log book says it's an SXI no mention of Twinport anywhere and no badges on car. However again the service manual with the vechicle details on for reference to the garage from vx themselfs states it is indeed a Z16XE.
The AA guy took the one that was already fitted to the engine with him and brought back the exact same one, which would lead one to believe it's the correct one, but I'm having doubts now and I really don't know what to do?
Although it was fitted with this other part originally, if it was incorrect to start with then the AA guy wouldn't have known any better so, I could have had the wrong part anyway.
Is it ok to have this part?, The car hasn't felt right since it's been changed either feels like crap, sounds louder than before, and starting to hear weird noises on start up.
Any advice would be a great help
for reference the car is an march 03 1.6 16v SXi hatch.
