    Exhaust info

As soon as funds available having cat back exhaust. Thinking of leaving the middle box out and just running with a back box only. Want to know will this reduce back pressure to much which may cause problem for the turbo as I remember reading on here that there was a theory this was causing turbo failure due to the lack of back pressure. Also will it make it to loud as I am after a deeper note without being to ott on the motorway.

ps I also have a precat fitted.

    Cheers

Well there are many different views on this. My view is turbo cars don't need back pressure, they are forcing the exhaust fumes out so in theory they will need to force more out.. so back pressure doesnt come into the equation. The more free-er flowing the exhaust the better. I had a straight through pipe on my coupe turbo and it was quite loud, but i also ran with it with no cat.

Dont worry about back pressure... end of.

An if you want a nice drive on the motorway i recommend a silencer, I didn't have 1 then got a 28" one put it. An people on the forum who have heard my car will tell you it sounds nice. I have 0 CATS too.

Cheers guys, in my original post meant to say precat decat fitted.
So would be good to run with just the back box.

Know what you mean fella, i want a reasonable noise on boost but not on long motorway journeys.
