    Should I Swap??

    Hello everyone!

I currently have a peugeot 206 and I HATE it. With a passion. Its 2000 1.4 lx and is not in the best condition. I have been offered a swap at a garage for a vauxhall astra CD 1.6 W reg. Looks in great nick, engine looks and sounds good and it drives good. Only thing is its got 130k on the clock.

So, is it worth the swap...? i really want to but I'm a little concerned the mileage is too high. How many miles can you normally get out of a 1.6??

Thanks in advance for any adivce

    Welcome to AOC

Ignore mileage, there are 1.4s and 1.6's pn 100k more miles than that.

As long as its been serviced regularly, thats all that matters

theres a long list of checks... but one thing ill mention is you want to know its been serviced regular, but also what is due soon e.g. it may be due a cambelt change which is gonna cost you (ask the garage to change it). and dont leave a full tank of petrol in your old car like i did!

my 1.6 sxi has 154,000 miles and runs spot on, as long as its properly looked after it will keep going, there are loads of 1.6's with higher mileage than mine on here too

My '99 SXi has 105600 on the clock, its had 4 previous owners but it drives like new, Like people have said, make sure its serviced properly and look after it should last a long time then!

On another note - wash wax and be nice to the paintwork!!
