Car needs to be seriously detailed!!

I normally get my car washed and hoovered at a local garage as I know the boss and it doesn't cost me anything.

I really want to do it myself as I would love to get a mirror finish to the car.

My coupe is mirage. what products would you recommend?

My girlfriend bought me a 99p bucket from B&Q, car shampoo tablets, 4 pack of sponges and a drying cloth and some back to black, upholstery spray, wheel cleaner, tyre shine, bug and tar remover, dash polish and air conditioner cleaner all from poundland (it was the thought that counted... What she was thinking of at the time I have know idea)

Anyway might use it to give the car a once going over to remove all the muck..

    I don't want to spend more than £50 - £60 on stuff.

What would you guy recommend I use?

The only thing I found very useful was the aircon cleaner which does a very good job, so I bought a few more more and its cheaper than the halfords stuff and smells nicer!!!

I would recommend your girlfriend bought you 2 x 99p buckets next time.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

I will be getting a second bucket and also 2 grit guards off ebay.

Is there any perticular brand of product I should use or just keep the cheap stuff

deffo a washmitt, megs do a nice one which ive got

it traps the dirt and helps prevent you scratching the paint further

as for anything else, give it a good wash and hose down followed by a polish with AG super resin or similar and then a wax to seal it

ive got a panel pot of Dodo Bananarama which is for lighter coloured cars you can use if you fancy trying it

prehaps invest in a clay kit aswell mate as that will remove some surface imperfections
