    Cambelt

Hi all, i drive a mk4 2.0 SRi and it needs a cambelt change.

Just got quoted from vauxhall £22 + VAT for the cambelt alone or £102 + VAT for a cambelt kit which includes rollers etc.

The person i spoke to on the phone said he recommends getting the whole kit as the rollers are known to be a problem on this model, so i was just wondering if he was just trying to get a big sale or is it completely pointless spending all the extra cash on the kit rather than the cambelt alone?

Its worth spending the extra and getting the whole kit for piece of mind, You will need a new tensioner also which will come in the kit as they are prone to fail which would cause the cambelt to come off. Go for the kit and you will know its all going to be ok.

Go for a kit, but try other suppliers for a better price first.
