    Car jerking when slowing down

Ok I have sorted nearly everything on my car other than the clutch which I intend on getting done in the next month or so. I seem to have a strange problem, when I let go of my excelerator pedal the car seems to gently jerk as it is slowing down. I am guessing this must be something simple but could this be due to the clutch being really worn?

Once again thank you for any advise as the users on this forum have already helped me big time.

I had a similar jerkiness. changed the wishbone for the MOT and it seems to have made it better. the balljoint was knackered.

Lots of things can cause this, but without knowing what engine it is hard to guess.

I got an X18XE1 and it does the same thing. I changed the front engine mount which made it slightly better, but still does it. I've spent too much time trying to figure out the problem, so now I've gracefully given up. Although, I might have a go at getting a better flowing air filter like K&N or pipercross and maybe the big bore induction pipe

My engine is a 1.8 x18xe1. I have not had this problem before. I have noticed that when I excelerate without putting the car in gear the revs go up and down nice and quick but when I am driving say at 30MPH in 3rd doing 2000rpm and i completely remove my foot from the excelerator pedal it takes the car about 10 seconds to drop down to 1500rpm. Is this normal?
