    Talking Wheel refurb progress...

Well i had been after some wheels for my car for a while and i had a very tight budget. I managed to pick a set up for £50 with good tyres on so was very pleased. They needed some work but still think they were a bargain. Heres what they looked like

This is after i sanded one of them down

    And after painting

This was the first time i've ever attempted anything like this and i am very pleased. The inside of the wheel is going to be painted black eventually which is why its a bit messy but just waiting for the laquer to go hard before i start covering it with paper and marking it.

Plan to get some bigger profile tyres on them when ive worn the current ones out as they are only 50's and i think i want 65's?

They are 15's and i have 14's atm with 70 profile tyres on.

    Comments welcome please

Did u need to do any filling? If so which filler did u use?

    Etch or normal primer?

I will be doing mine in the next few months so hopefully have just as good results

    White wheels

Nice job, looks a really good finish and painting the inside black will make them much easier to keep looking clean too!

No need for any filler as they had a refurb before i brought them but they did a poor job with the spraying so i wanted to make them nicer, i used halfords primer, followed by halfords white wheel paint and laquer (a whole can of each on that wheel alone).

Went to lacquer another yesterday after painting and leaving 2 days to dry and it went on fine, came back half an hour later and all of one side has all bubbled up and peeled right down to the primer Not sure why its happened as i always use panel wipe and a tack rag.
