Question Oil Filler Cap Stuck - Astra G 1.6 2002

Hey guys, my oil light came on yesterday so I bought some oil. Went to put it in this morning and the yellow oil filler cap was stuck tight. Got some grippy gloves on and had another go, and the top part sheared off in my hand, leaving the screw part left in

I took the car down to kwik-fit (hoping for literally that!) but the guy was useless. Reckoned the only way to get it out was going to be drilling it out, but he couldn't do it. Surely that is going to mean bits of plastic rattling round in my engine though?

Ive ordered a new cap from vaux world but I need to get the old one out. Anyone got any ideas or had the same problem? Is quick fit mans solution alright? Basically, help!
