    Machine/Product Advice For Saphire Black

Ok, i thaught i had it all mapped out, but i guess i didnt - lol

So i have £250 to spend on my saphire black astra, ive decided to keep it and mod it up, but i would like to get the paintwork as shiny as possible before spending on mods.

Im after advice from people with machine polishers, preferably with saphire black, as to which products they are using..

I have sonus sfx-1, sfx-3, black hole, megs#16 paste wax,

    NEED LIST:
    Machine Polisher
    Pads
    Shampoo
    LSP
    Maybe Wax
Polish - dont mind spending on better stuff
    Better Drying Towel
If people can list some products and any things to remember that would be great..

Thanks and il be ordering monday probably from CYC

Remove with microfibres mate. Use a harder pad (higher cut - Lake country white or orange) with the SFX1 polish and a softer pad (refining pad - lake country green) with the SFX3.

Have a look in the video guides and on youtube mate.

idealy i wanted the das-6 pro but this came with the hexlogic pads, question being is does the 3M polish suite saphire black? also is it any good?

    thanks

As test have shown of late, a vast ammount of polishes on the market are filler heavy including 3M.
From what ive used it is quite oil/filler heavy and isnt giving good enough results imo nor do menzerna but menzerna are slightly less oil rich ergo better "true correction" but I dont use any of them now and havent for a long time tbh.
The more oil rich polishes are sonus and meguiars so I would personallk go elsewhere.
As for pads, ccs are ok and so are planet polish, 3M.
#16 is a very good wax for its price tag but for a nice wet look then dodo juice purple haze or swissvax onynx/zymol carbon.
Durability get yourelf some collinite 476s or fk1000p.
As for drying towels, scrap the scartchy waffles and get a couple of ubers from I4detailing or serious performance, soft as soft can be, you wont need to ring it out and leaves a cracking finish.

that's a very good deal as those bottle of polish are around £25 a go. I use the 3M polishes and to me nothing really come close. They're easy to work with, but watch yourself with the Fast Cut Plus as that can be a bit tricky. The Ultrafina is a great finishing polish and leaves a nice finish. I like to use Zymol HD Cleanse afterwards to give a nice oily, LSP ready finish.

on your car the paintwork is a doddle.
You certainly wont need fast cut plus and it will hologram everywhere if not refned down and i wouldnt consider any polish other than 3m and ive tried almost everything now although scott is bang on if you want a true image ipa/water down after correction.
I go 3m yellow top extrafine compound on a green hexlogic pad as stage one then ultrafina on a 3m blue waffle pad for high gloss polishing then finish off with your megs or as stated fk1000 is a great sealent on black.
Of the 3 hex logics i use to simplify orange is hard cut , green is mild and black is finishing.
Heavenly Paintwork is simply Heaven Itself.
