    1.8i 16V SRI Chip modding/remapping

Hi all, I'm new to the forum, and know very little about modding and styling cars. I recently bought an Astra G 1.8i 16v SRI, 5 door. I am looking into chipping/remapping it. Just looking for advice from anyone who has done this or knows how to do it. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering the same thing, I have Op-com, does anyone know if it's possible to remap with it or is it best to just pay someone that knows what they're doing?

defo best to pay someone who knows what they are doing. you wont get big gains from a NASP engine with a remap, but you might find that the difference it does make is worth it, or you could find it to be a total rip off

Depending on what you want to do to your engine, its normally worth leaving the remap to the end as it brings all the other mods togther.
After my engine rebuild, i gained 15bhp from a Superchips remap,

Thanks for the reply, The only thing i have done so far is a K & N induction kit, what other mods should be next? i really have no idea about these things!

If possible could anyone perhaps provide links to items i can buy to improve my car.

free flowing cat back exhaust, 4-2-1 manifold, intake manifold, sports cams.
buy as many of the above as you're prepared to fork out for and then splash out on a remap. if you've already done the physical mods, a custom map will help make the most out of the new parts.
a lightened flywheel would give you better throttle response and acceleration too.
also might be worth swapping the open cone filter for an enclosed filter with a cold air feed, something like a K&N apollo, pipercross viper or BMC CDA.
