    turbo should i buy

    Hi All,

i have a coupe which has been remapped by redot.
    have standard turbo.
fmic - tx autosport smaller of the 2
    std exhaust

heres my question i have std turbo but not to sure if i should get the vxr 1? if i did would the car need remapping when being fitted or can it still be driven?
Not too sure if i should upgrade or keep the std one on the car and maybe get a pre cat pipe and exhaust instead? ideas of whats the plan of action?

    cheers

You will be able to drive the car as normal if you fit a VXR turbo, however to see it's full potential you wouuld need it mapping in!...
Star Silver SRI Turbo..'Red.Dot Reloaded'..Cybox Precat, Cybox Catback SS Exhaust..K&N Panel Filtered...9Ltr EDS SMIC!!.....

If the turbo is still working ok, there isn't much point upgrading it until you have at least an exhaust fitted. Then you might as well get LEH injectors + AFM and get them all mapped in at the same time. high 280-290's no problem I would imagine with that lot.

I had a look under the car to the pre cat area and I don't have a flange that connects the pre cat to the 2nd cat pipe so I guess I can't buy the pre cat replacement pipe??

How much will that set me back? Does that mean I won't have the 2nd cat?

You need to either buy the pre-cat replacement + a sports cat. Or get a flange wielded onto the OE cat so you can use it with a pre-cat replacement.

go to a custom exhaust place - they will chop it and weld the necessary flange for ya

any decent place will do this no problem
