    Under Engine Protection

    My 58 plate sxi recently went in to have the tracking done.

    While there, it was pointed out to me that the "underskirt" was missing.

    This was the first work done on it since buying it last Feb as a used car from Evans Halshaw in Portsmouth.

    Should there be an underskirt?

    underskirtonly cars I have seen with a sump cover is a Police spec car years ago and that was a early police car

    Some do come with Plastic covers underneath the whole engine.

    Diesel Mk4's and 5's have engine bay undertrays fitted and petrols don't it's there to help the diesels comply in drive by noise tests.

    When I've fixed my oil leak I'll put it back on then. It did seem noisier when I took it off.
