    Electric key probs

Can anyone help? My electric key has stopped opening and locking my Astra. I have changed the battery but still no joy. Could this be a sensor problem? and if so where is it located??? Also is there anyway to test the key, I have herd they are around £120 to replace.... Any suggestions

Does the little red light work on the key when you press it, pack the back of the battery out with paper as this is a common fault with these keys, then re sync it as above

Packing worked a treat, I'm still getting another key, £16.00 online (£85.00 from Vauxhall) and the programming then £69.00 on top...flipping cheating sods....

If you or anyone you know is good with a soldering iron you can fix it that way too, and permanent,
